Vista Hills Country Club is a desert-style course that tends to be somewhat hilly, so you can expect some uneven lies. The fairways are fairly narrow, and some of them are lined by out-of-bounds stakes. This is a good recreational course for the average golfer.
The course closed April 30, 2019
The future of the 45-year-old, 161-acre Vista Hills Country Club golf course, in the heart of East El Paso, is in doubt after the club's board of directors have been unable to sell it and set an April 30 closing date after years of financial problems.
The golf course is divided by Lee Trevino Drive and is surrounded by several hundred, mostly high-end homes.
Attempts to sell the 10,000 square-foot Vista Hills clubhouse, which has been on the market for $2.3 million for about a year, and the 18-hole golf course, on the market about two years with no listed sales price, have brought no interested buyers, said Bill Tomberlin, president of the club's board of directors.
Attempts to get officials at various government entities, including the city of El Paso, interested in acquiring the golf course and clubhouse have failed so far
